Museum (With 2 videos)

Today is Friday in Korea... for the rest of the world by the time Friday starts... my Friday will be over.

Thank god for the weekend.... it has been hell here in Korea. Mostly because they don't believe in hiring subs when teachers are absent, so we are all worked to the bone from covering classes left and right.

Kristen, a fellow teacher, and a friend of mine... had to go to Hong Kong to get her visa (much like I did in Japan last week). She had huge problems there regarding her visa and she's not back yet. I hope that everything goes well for her, because without her here..... we all have to pick up extra classes. Needless to say... I'm not a fan of picking up extra classes.

Not only that... but today we were supposed to go to the zoo with the Kindergarteners. I was so excited for this because I haven't been to a zoo in forever AND the Kindergarteners are so cute that they just make you so excited for everything. Unfortunately Korea had to rain on our parade. Literally....

It hasn't rained in about a week and a half and of course it picks today to rain. Lame.

We went to the art museum instead. As you can imagine, the kids were less than thrilled to be in a museum. But they handled it well and entertained themselves with "TEACHER JUMP" and various other teacher-harming activities. In the museum were about a billion of Koreas youth... most of them in the early high school stage. They were in love with our little kids. So many photos were taken of them by random Korean young adults. Very random.

I've never had so many people say HI to me in my life. I was walking down the road with a kid on each arm and 5 more in tow and these high school kids were just saying HI, one after the other. Then one says "You are very beautiful". I almost kissed that person. That was very sweet. I felt quite happy to hear that.

My favorite part of the day, besides being paid... finally... was when we were sitting in the museum during break time. Alice is attached to my hip and everytime I sit down... she wants to be on my lap. So I was holding her and she was singing the "Erik Teacher song"... featured below... Then she turns to me and puts her lips against my cheek and says "I love you".

Erik Teacher song:

It was so adorable!!! My heart soared. These kids make my pain and anguish and frustration completely worth it.

Then later in the day, I walked by Alice while I was teaching the elementary students and she was chewing gum and reaches into her mouth and pulls the piece apart and gives me the other half. So gross, but so cute!!

I love that kid....

this video below shows how cute she is....

Alice is adorable. I want to squeeze her.

I'm glad people over there are telling you that you're beautiful...because you are. I'm happy that other people see that too. :)
